The Labelexpo Global Series is launching Label Summit Indonesia 2013, a new conference and table-top exhibition for label and package printing converters, brand owners and designers.

Taking place May 29-30 at the Westin Resort Nusa Dua in Bali, the inaugural event is being targeted at label and package printing converters, brand owners and designers.

Organizers of the Labelexpo Global Series said Label Summit Indonesia has the full support of the region’s trade bodies, including the Indonesian Packaging Federation, as well as the industry’s major international manufacturers who have already committed to exhibit at the show.

The bi-annual event will alternate between Bali and Jakarta.

Event organizer Tarsus, the publisher of Package Print Worldwide and sister magazine Labels & Labeling, said the label and package printing is consistently the fastest growing sector in the global printing marketplace and Indonesia’s label consumption currently stands at 100m sq m.

Event growth
It is the second summit announced this year by the Labelexpo Global Series, following Label Summit Africa’s introduction earlier this year.

It was recently announced that Label Summit India will return in October this year with its largest show in its 10-year history, similarly presenting opportunities for package printers and converters in India’s emerging market.

Moves to allow 100 percent retail FDI in multi-brand stories in India were recently made public, with the potential to shake-up the country’s packaging and label printing industries.

Package printing events
A series of package printing summits and events are also being organized alongside the label-centric program. Packprint Summit Middle East takes place in Dubai on November 6-7, while Packprint Summit Americas is scheduled for November 5-6, 2013 in Miami.

Gulf Print & Pack, the only dedicated event for commercial and package printing in the Middle East and North Africa, will take place April 8-11 in Dubai also.

Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director, said: ‘We’re extremely excited to be launching into the region, particularly as Indonesia is fast becoming one of the world’s most significant emerging markets.

‘Many international companies are now doing business here because of the area’s increasing personal wealth, financial and political stability and increasing demand for luxury and consumer brands.’
