Vintage 99 launches digital capability with open house

AB Graphic International has supplied California-based Vintage 99 Label Mfg with an Omega Digicon Series II finishing line for its HP Indigo ws4500 digital print engine enabling, the company to offer both conventional and digitally printed labels. The equipment has been installed at its new 4,300 square foot facility in Livermore and will be used to produce labels for the wine, spirit, gourmet food and health and beauty markets.
Commenting on the move, Vintage 99’s president Kathy Gonzales said, ‘We have been keeping an eye on where digital printing was going not only for client necessity, but also for the equipment available. We have many small clients where traditional printing is too costly for them. Additionally we have many large clients that have small run needs. Our clients now have the opportunity to choose their print preference whether digital, flexo or waterless offset without design or run restrictions. The Digicon allows us to expand our current capabilities to re-register additional colors and multiple foils more efficiently, as well as offer embossing and screen printing using high build varnishes. It is also an excellent solution to support work from our conventional printing presses.
‘Over the years the industry has seen a myriad of small wineries start up. With the introduction of digital printing our competitors are now trying to cater to them via digital. Vintage 99 started with these small clients and we want to continue to meet their needs. This installation allows us to be a one-stop shop because it expands the capabilities of our current equipment line-up of flexo, waterless and offset presses.’
