First HP Indigo press installed at KallKwik Edinburgh

KallKwik Edinburgh has become the first KallKwik franchise to install an HP Indigo press – a five-color 5000 – at its new, purpose-built, city-center facility.

The press will be used to service the print-on-demand needs and provide an extended range of marketing collateral including personalized and variable data print to the city’s local businesses.

Within one week of the press becoming fully operational KallKwik won a major contract to produce on a quarterly basis 16-page financial documents, in full color with high levels of personalization. In order to win this account before KallKwik had its HP Indigo press 5000 installed, samples were printed for the customer in the HP Indigo demo suite in Bracknell. The contract was won ‘largely based on the high-quality achieved with digital print and the ability to turn the job around to meet a very tight deadline’, according to a statement.

‘The transition to new premises and new equipment was very smooth and we have been really impressed by the HP support during and after installation,’ said Mark McCluskey, director, KallKwik. ‘The HP Indigo press 5000 will help differentiate our business, we are now able to meet, and often exceed, the speed and quality expectations of our customers producing products that offer better value for money.’

With its HP Indigo press 5000 KallKwik can now anticipate a 50:50 divide between its digital and conventional printing production and has already migrated 35 per cent of conventional jobs to the new digital press.
