S-OneLP Products wins Degradability Innovation Award
This honor highlights an essential pillar of sustainability: designing products with their end-of-life in mind.

S-OneLP has received a 2025 Commercial Success in Degradability Innovation Award from RadTech, for its ReEarth pouch, REE34MSUP, coated with its matte eBeam OPV, KKLP705.
KKLP705 matte eBeam coating performance can be used to protect HP Indigo inks or EB offset inks, and offers rub and
scratch resistance. It also provides dependable cure response and is suitable for label and flexible packaging surface print protection with a matte finish.
According to the company, when an item is discarded, it often increases non-degradable waste in landfills. Even most recyclable plastics have the same result. RadTech reports that 9 percent of the world’s plastic waste is recycled. Research and development, along with packaging technology, are paramount in the design of degradable materials to fight pollution.
'S-OneLP is committed to widening sustainable opportunities for converters by providing them with a variety of environmentally friendly product options,' stated
Dan Halkyard, senior director of product development, S-OneLP. 'Our ReEarth line of prelaminated flexible packaging films offer bio-based and compostable alternatives. Also, when used in recommended coat weights, our formulated EB coatings and adhesives do not inhibit compostability.'
The film that won the degradability award is ReEarth 3.4 mil silver compostable pouch web. REE34MSUP is made in the US from USDA-certified bio-based, compostable materials, and the laminated structure formed into a printed and protected pouch has been certified by TUV for both Commercial and Home compostability. This eco-friendly packaging is designed to have excellent barrier properties, a robust sealant layer for closures, and perfect stiffness for gusseted pouches that stand independently.
The company's sustainable product packaging is made from compostable, responsibly sourced materials. This metalized laminated film structure can be surface printed by either digital or analog technology and is compatible with most pouching
equipment.
ReEarth 3.4 mil silver compostable pouch web supports the local economy while decreasing environmental impact.
Its metalized barrier layer keeps package contents fresh for longer. Its thick bio-sealant layer is compatible with most compostable closures/zippers.
Its applications include dry food content pouches or bar wraps. At the end of their lives, they are home and industrial compostable. The pouch film was printed on a surface on an HP Indigo press and then coated with our CatPak matte eBeam coating to protect the package surface. The ReEarth printed, and e-beamed pouch passed ASTMD6400 and EN13432 testing. Additionally, our film is certified for commercial and home compostability by BPI and TUV and is Lomi-approved, a countertop composting unit manufacturer. The USDA has also approved the film for its bio-based content.
