Founder announces agreement for HP Indigo digital presses

Beijing Founder Electronics has announced an agreement with HP that appoints Founder as a distributor for HP Indigo digital presses and consumables within China. Founder and HP will also start to collaborate in research & development for Digital Front End solutions in the commercial printing industry globally.

The companies will also co-operate in the optimization of the Founder ElecRoc Digital Front End (DFE) cutting-edge JDF-PDF workflow technology that is designed to especially benefit the installed base of HP Indigo users. The solution will provide these users with the ability to integrate HP Indigo digital presses in addition to over 100 existing Imagesetter (CtF), CtP and digital proofing devices, providing one easy-to-use, enterprise-wide workflow management solution.

The Founder ElecRoc DFE is a direct integration of Founder’s ElecRoc workflow and HP Indigo presses. It supports PostScript, PDF and FounderFIT print options that include native unicode double-byte font support for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages, as well as variable data printing.

‘Bundled with ElecRoc Digital Front End we will be targeting the commercial printing and enterprise markets as well as the top levels of Founder’s successful EasiPrint franchise chain in China,’ stated Patrick Kearns, Founder’s marketing and product management director. ‘We have been developing ElecRoc DFE to directly control and drive the HP Indigo press, and have been delighted with the results.’

ElecRoc DFE features client-server architecture with set-up and automated print jobs from PC or Macintosh. It also provides Imposition and composition for rapid, accurate output, quality assured digital color proofing, PDF trapping and preflight and variable data printing.

In addition, Founder’s EagleRIP upgrade for the installed base of HP Indigo presses provides optimized performance with support for the latest PostScript 3/PDF 1.5 file formats and PDF trapping.
