FSC and PEFC accreditation for UK printer

UK self adhesive label manufacturer Field First – Label Access has successfully achieved accreditation and been re-audited to both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody standards.

Field First – Label Access achieved these accreditations ahead of its material suppliers – and has since proactively encouraged its suppliers also to gain these standards. The company is now able to offer its customers self adhesive labels printed on FSC and/or PEFC certified materials.

Andy Walter, sales and marketing director, Field First – Label Access, said: ‘Environmental consideration has always been integral to our company’s activities. There are many companies who are reacting to what they see as a trend or opportunity and are simply “green washing” themselves. Our commitment runs much deeper and is demonstrated by the fact we were also the first UK label printer to gain ISO14001 nearly ten years ago.’

Acknowledging this commitment, Field First – Label Access secured a coveted Green Apple Award Environment Award, presented to quality manager Matt Smith by Professor David Bellamy at the House of Commons on November 9.
