The Gallus Group’s new production facilities for screen printing plates were officially opened on Thursday 7 June 2007 in a ceremony attended by representatives from politics and business. The plant is in Herisau, near the company’s headquarters in St. Gallen.

The new manufacturing facilities are to take over the global supply of Screeny screen printing plates. Approximately 12 million Swiss francs have been invested in the new plant and process engineering for electrolytic coating.

The Gallus Group has ensured all the technical conditions are in place for the new production site to remain a hub for product innovation. As a result, it is safeguarding long-term supplies for the screen printing plate business, in addition to the manufacture of label presses. 20 new specialist jobs have also been created in Herisau.

In his opening speech, Peter J. Hauser, chairman of the board of directors at Gallus Holding AG, stressed that the new production facilities in Herisau reflect the group’s commitment to eastern Switzerland as a business location. He added that the production site provides Gallus with trained personnel, an ideal infrastructure, and important synergies with Huber Suhner, the company that owns the land where the production facilities have been built.
