UV systems manufacturer GEW will feature its e-System mini, designed specifically for low cost running on narrow web presses up to 10” (25cm) printing width, at Label Summit Latin America in Mexico on April 15-16. This model gives high efficiency, energy savings through 3.6kW all-electronic e-Brick power supply with proven 30 percent energy saving versus traditional choke and ballast systems plus 20 percent more UV energy.

Company president Brian Wenger said: ‘GEW has taken the positive step of discontinuing energy inefficient choke and ballast powered UV systems and now produce only electronic power supplies.’ This not only provides energy efficiency, but also contributes environmentally by reducing carbon emissions. The e-System mini combines electronic technology with ‘plug and print’ single phase input operated from simple control switches.

Information will also be available on other new developments from GEW including UV monitoring and testing systems, nitrogen inert atmosphere curing and the latest generation of reflectors capable of running flexo at up to 200m/min and silk screen at up to120m/min with an output of only 160W/cm.
