Tarsus Group plc, the international media group with interests in exhibitions, conferences, publishing and online media, has announced the launch of Flexpack Summit India 2007. The Group is a worldwide leader in delivering high-quality label and packaging industry events through its well-established Labelexpo brand. Flexpack Summit India 2007 is a new conference-led trade event focusing on the developments in the dynamic flexible packaging sector across India and South East Asia. The Summit will take place in October 2007 in New Delhi, India.

Flexible packaging is the fastest growing type of packaging in the world and now accounts for more than one-third of all expenditure on consumer packaging in a market estimated to be in excess of $70 billion. In India alone, flexible packaging is the most commonly used form of packaging, accounting for 57 per cent of the total packaging demand in volume terms.

The launch of this new event builds on the Group’s successful expansion into the emerging markets of China, Latin America and India. Over 70 per cent of delegates attending the Group’s label shows and conference-led summits are senior professionals and decision makers in purchasing and investment strategies. The Group’s leading biennial exhibitions, Labelexpo Europe, Labelexpo Americas and Labelexpo Asia, together welcome over 45,000 visitors and are the biggest events in the global label industry calendar. These highly recognized shows enable global label suppliers to unveil new products, showcase state-of-the-art working machinery and set up long-term commercial partnerships.

Flexpack Summit India 2007 is the event for all those involved in the flexible packaging sector in India and South East Asia, including: materials suppliers, designers, packaging printing professionals, web press manufacturers and representatives involved in pre-press solutions, digital workflow, plate/cylinder technology as well as those in associated printing, ancillary, web management and converting activities, to name a few.

The Summit’s conference program will cover the latest hot topics facing the industry including: the size of the flexible packaging market, types of materials, pre-press technology and production trends as well as end-user requirements in sectors such as food, retail, pharmaceutical, agrochemical, cosmetics, toiletries and household products.

Roger Pellow, Labels Group managing director, said: ‘We’re delighted to launch Flexpack Summit India 2007 and look forward to welcoming all those involved in this billion dollar industry in South East Asia to the event next year. The event will bring new ideas to the table and help delegates to learn about the latest issues in this ever-evolving area of packaging in the region. With major international retail and consumer product manufacturers moving to the region, even further rapid growth is expected. We have a great track record in delivering high-quality conferences and exhibitions that can stimulate growth, ideas, innovation and investment in the industry and we look forward to expanding in this area further.’
