High Impact Printing with the Kodak Nexpress 2500

Bek, the Dutch communications provider, has become one of the first print companies in the Netherlands to install the Kodak Nexpress 2500 Digital Production Color Press with the Fifth Imaging Unit and Glossing Unit. Bek is using the latest Kodak system to promote its variable data printing services on a wide rnage of substrates that enables users to show a fast return on investment. The Veghel based company, which employs 100 staff and offers a wide range of graphic and cross-media products, numbers Sligro, Royal Canin, DHL and FrieslandCampina amongst its customers.
Bek, which has more than ten years’ experience in digital printing, believes Kodak’s new printing format has a bright future, as Rob van den Heuvel, operations manager at Bek, explained: ‘We went all out for quality, and knew the Nexpress 2500 would consistently deliver the quality our customers expect. The fact that the system can process a wide range of substrates was also important to us. The fact that our operators can easily replace and maintain all the vital parts is a bonus, as it means more uptime, higher productivity, and significant cost savings.’
The Fifth Imaging Unit offers Bek the potential to offer higher value services, for example expanding the PMS color range using a fifth color, or adding spot color. It also allows flood or spot coating or glossing, which creates a striking impression, and is unique among digital presses.
