High profile speakers announced for Smart Label Summit Americas

Smart Label Summit Americas, taking place 27-28 June at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami, is a unique international event that will explore the infinite possibilities of the complete smart label technology solution available to the American and global market. The two-day conference has today announced the support of a number of high-profile speakers ranging from end-users in the retail and pharmaceutical sectors to leading RFID and smart labels industry experts.


Mike Meranda, president of EPC Global (US) will open the conference with a keynote presentation on ‘Creating global standards: fact or fiction?’ He will address the global brand requirements of a universal tag and look at the standardization possibilities for HF and UHF technology.


The impact of RFID technology on the retail sector will feature strongly throughout the two-day conference. Experts
from the world of retail include RFID specialists from Wal-Mart, J.Crew and Beaver Street Fisheries - the organization that took part in the Wal-Mart mandate.  The former head of RFID at Procter & Gamble will also share his experience and insights into ways of implementing RFID technology with retailers as well as looking at upcoming trends this year.


Future trends in item level tagging and their impact on the pharmaceutical industry will be presented by Aaron Graham, VP & chief security officer of Purdue Pharma. Domino Printing Sciences, a global manufacturer providing technological solutions to the pharmaceutical industry will focus on how RFID, barcodes and datamatrix can be interlinked and how best to manage and transfer product data.


Developments in smart active and intelligent label growth will also be hot topics on the conference agenda. The range of new generation oxygen scavenging, gas scavenging, odor absorbing, moisture absorbing, temperature and time indicator tags being brought to the market, will all be discussed at the conference. Timestrip plc, a leading smart label technology manufacturer, will share their expertise on how labels can show accurate time-lapse information for the end-consumer on both food and non-food products.
