Hunkeler’s recently concluded Innovationdays 2007 has been called a ‘major success’, based on more than 4,000 visitors, the participation of over 60 leading digital printing and inserting company partners, a slate of new product introductions, and strong sales orders. Held February 5-8 in Lucerne, Switzerland, the event set record attendance levels by drawing international experts and professionals from the areas of print on demand, data center, mailroom, and web finishing to see live demonstrations of the latest paper processing solutions and applications.

‘Hunkeler Innovationdays has proven to be a premier event for anyone investing in digital printing and paper handling technology.  Every major industry player is represented under one roof, with an unrivaled range of different applications running,’ said Johan Laurent, Hunkeler business manger for standard finishing systems. ‘We welcomed an impressive line-up of North American customers and prospects. By all accounts they considered the event educational and worthwhile.’

Highlights included the new Gen6 rotary cutter with variable chip-out, a non-stop stacker for continuous productivity, and improved handling of light-weight paper as well as heavy card stock. The full range of new Gen6 unwinders, cutters, stackers, and rewinders were also on display.

Planning for InnovationDays 2009 is already underway. According to David Reny, managing director, The Standard Finishing Systems, ‘As Hunkeler’s North American partner, we see Innovationdays as a great chance for industry professionals to learn, share, and find answers to the paper processing challenges facing their businesses. The event this year far exceeded our expectations.’
