ImageID announces ‘RFID alternative’ for supply chain

ImageID Ltd, supplier of advanced data capture and asset tracking solutions, has developed a machine vision technology  called Visidot, which captures identifying data from hundreds of unique assets in a single read with a claimed  accuracy rate of well over 99 per cent. The system exports the captured data to any existing supply chain software.

IFCO Systems, one of the worlds leading suppliers of reusable plastic containers (RPC’s) with more than 240 million rentals per year, is currently testing the Visidot technology in Europe in a live environment with customers.
‘During the first implementation in one of our depots in Europe, Visidot has achieved a read accuracy rate of over 99.9 per cent, providing us with a robust, cost-effective solution,’ said Mr. Wolfgang Orgeldinger,  CEO of IFCO Systems.

The Visidot solution includes unique tags that are applied to reusable or disposable assets, readers that operate even in harsh environments and at long distances from the assets, a comprehensive management system and a
data gateway.
