The story began in the USA in 1969, when the founder Albert Ondis patented the first recorder and established Atlan-Tool. The company was renamed Astro-Med in 1984, and the European location in Rodgau was established shortly thereafter, 30 years ago. The American parent company is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Since the change of name in 2016, AstroNova has grown constantly. It now features 12 locations around the world and three divisions: Product Identification, Test & Measurement, and Aerospace. The European location plays an especially significant role in the overall company development for the Test & Measurement and Product Identification divisions, which are known for their QuickLabel and TrojanLabel brand names.

For 30 years, the European headquarters has been managed by Michael Morawetz, managing director Germany and vice-president operations EMEA. ‘With our innovative measurement devices, label printers, and machines, we are addressing the constantly increasing requirements of various markets,’ he said. ‘Flexibility and the single-source philosophy give AstroNova a decisive competitive advantage on the European market. With four company branch offices, more than 100 partners in Europe, and the constant enhancement of our solutions, we are close to our customers and partners.’

AstraNova will exhibit at Labelexpo Europe on September 24-27 at booth 9C05.
