The AWA International Sleeve Label Conference and Exhibition (ISLCE) is taking place on April 1-3 in Amsterdam, and with the third day at the Empack exhibition in 's-Hertogenbosch.

Corey Reardon, CEO of AWA Alexander Watson Associates, said: ‘Combining the expertise of substrate manufacturers, converting and application experts, and different end uses, shrink sleeve labeling is a unique, complex product identification and decoration process that delivers a unique and much-valued product decoration solution. But what is the future for shrink sleeves? This year’s ISLCE conference program will address this and much more.’

End users – brand owners and consumers – agree with Reardon’s positive view of sleeve labeling. Pernod Ricard is a brand owner skilled in the use of the technology, and Lucas Helferty, production specialist at the company, will be sharing some of the successes that continue to help his company maintain the on-shelf presence of its products. Other speakers include L’Oréal’s retail and trade marketing manager, Professional Products Division, Erik Troost. From yet another end user viewpoint, Multi-Pack Solutions will highlight current trends and demands as experienced by a top contract packer.

The program also features speakers and panel discussions from leading technology companies including Bonset, Flint Group, Gallus, HP, Karlville and Verst Group Logistics. Conference sessions will focus on specific topics: market trends and technology; recycling and sustainability; and shrink sleeve printing and conversion.

The program will also include the AWA real-time industry survey with participants, providing an informative overview of the market’s potential. There are networking opportunities during the program around the supplier table-top exhibition, and at the cocktail reception at the end of the first day.

An annual feature of ISLCE is the presentation of the AWA International Sleeve Label Awards to the winners selected by the 2019 panel of expert judges. An additional program feature on April 3 sees ISLCE participants invited to enjoy a complimentary visit to The Netherlands’ leading packaging exhibition, Empack, in 's-Hertogenbosch.
