Clearmark raises thousands for local charity

‘We ran, we cycled, we climbed virtual mountains, we baked and hosted a virtual gig just to name a few activities that took place over the week all to raise money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People,’ stated the company.

Starting with a target of £1000 the Clearmark team was astounded to have surpassed this quite early on in the week and reached a total of £2952 and counting.

Clearmark and Rainbows have been working together for several years and have formed a strong relationship. Rainbows opened in 1994 to offer care and support to children and young people with life limiting illnesses and their loved ones.

Kate Golding, head of organizational giving at Rainbows, commented: ‘We would like to thank everyone at Clearmark for raising such an incredible amount of money for Rainbows. We rely on donations to be able to care for children and young people, particularly during this difficult time. Without the support of companies like Clearmark, we wouldn’t be able to open our doors.’

During the fundraising week 514 miles were covered in total: 286 miles cycling, 100 miles running and 128 miles walking and hiking. There were cupcakes, cookies, fudge, blondies and cheese twists to name a few things available at the socially distanced bake sale for office based key workers and the at home bake sales for families and friends. The week was topped off with a virtual performance by Clearmark’s workshop and warehouse manager.

Clearmark’s managing director Chris Simpson, who completed a 50 mile bike ride for the fundraising week, said: ‘We are proud to have been supporting Rainbows for several years now and are always pleased to help them in any way we can, be it direct donations, volunteering at events or completing fundraising activities. Rainbows is a fantastic charity full of heart. We were especially proud to  be fundraising to support them as much as possible during these difficult times.’
