Coexpan-Emsur Brasil commences production

Coexpan-Emsur Brasil has been formed by bringing together two divisions of Grupo Lantero under a ‘one-stop shop’ concept, Coexpan and Emsur. Globally, the two businesses have a direct presence in 12 countries and sell into more than 65 around the world. Coexpan, the plastic division of Grupo Lantero, specializes in the manufacture of rigid plastic sheets and thermoformed products, and serves the American market through its plants in Mexico, Brazil and Chile. It has been operating in Brazil since 1997. Emsur is a sister division dedicated to producing flexible containers. It offers both gravure and flexo printing, and QR and inkjet technologies. The company currently has 10 production plants in eight different countries, four of them on the American continent, in Chicago, New York, Mexico and Argentina. With an annual production of almost one billion square meters, Emsur conducts business in over 60 countries spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Through Coexpan-Emsur Brasil, it has landed in Brazil.

The Coexpan-Emsur Brasil production plant is located in Jundiaí, Sao Paulo. It covers nearly 7,000 sqm, so far, with plans to double the capacity for future needs. It is equipped with high-quality technology to produce both rigid and flexible packaging, including PS and PP extruded barrier sheets for FFS, rotogravure printing for labels, and lids with hot melt application in line, as well as sleeve capabilities. The main asset for this production center is cited as the opportunity to maximize commercial synergies between both business units with their experience and know-how in rigid and flexible packaging. The manufacturing processes have been specifically optimized under the Lean methodology to guarantee maximum efficiency. This new plant reinforces the presence of both plastic divisions in the American market and strengthens the product portfolio of Coexpan-Emsur Brasil.

With the establishment of Coexpan-Emsur Brasil, Grupo Lantero said it has taken one step further forward in its ‘Horizon 2020’ strategic plan to become a leading global player in the plastic packaging food market in Europe and America.

Daniel Richena, general manager at Coexpan-Emsur Brasil, said: ‘Brazil is the first manufacturing site of Grupo Lantero that produces rigid plastic sheets and flexible products under the same roof, which will bring us all advantages and synergies to best attend our customers and support our global footprint.’

The establishment of Coexpan-Emsur Brasil coincides with launch of a new visual identity that sees both divisions align their brands and introduce a new logo, which allows the organization to communicate effectively a new positioning in the market, ‘Rigid and Flexible Packaging’.
