Contiweb to become independent

Goss and manroland web systems are to combine their printing press businesses. After the close of this transaction, expected in mid-2018, Contiweb will become a separate company under the ownership of AIP.

As an independent company, Contiweb will continue its growth agenda in becoming a supplier of ancillary products for commercial and digital inkjet printing applications, and press supplier for label and packaging applications. Contiweb will also continue its focus on product lifetime support by offering its full suite of aftermarket options for customers.

Bert Schoonderbeek, Contiweb managing director, said: ‘We will continue to build upon our successful relationship with both Goss and manroland, and are looking forward to continuing the cooperation as a strong partner of the combined company as we pursue other diversification opportunities.’

Contiweb is a specialist in the development, production, sales and support of state-of-the-art ancillaries for web-fed printing presses, and has diversified its offering to include splicers and dryers for web offset presses, Vits and JetWeb finishing equipment, ancillary equipment for inkjet printing presses. In 2016, Contiweb acquired the intellectual property for the Thallo web offset press.

Schoonderbeek added: ‘Contiweb’s separation marks a new era for further growth of the company.’
