Dixie Labels is a provider of pressure-sensitive labels and tags serving consumer product goods companies in the wine and spirits, health, beauty personal care, food and beverage as well as rug and flooring markets.

‘Dixie Labels is an outstanding addition under the EverGreene Tag & Label Group umbrella,’ said David Ehrhardt, CEO of EverGreene. ‘It adds depth and breadth to our multi-plant operation, including production capacity for substantial growth.’

He continued: ‘We share a common culture that’s focused on providing superior label and tag products and services, with an overarching commitment to customer service. Collectively, the acquisition expands our manufacturing footprint with roll-to-roll digital and finishing for prime labeling. It also extends our ability to enable brand owners to more effectively take consumer product goods to market.’

Dixie Labels was formed in 1991 with the merger of Dixie Ticket and Label and S&R Labels, with owner-operators Rusty Baxley and Joe Buckley leading the company. Post-acquisition, Baxley has since retired, while Buckley has remained as general manager. The converter will continue operating in Chattanooga as a standalone company under the EverGreene Tag & Label Group corporate banner.

‘Joining the EverGreene Tag & Label Group family of label converters makes it possible for Dixie Labels to leverage its digital and flexo capabilities,’ said Joe Buckley, Dixie Labels general manager. ‘We’re able now to deliver a wider range of label and tag products that best meet customers’ needs for applications of all sizes.’

In the wake of the acquisition, the sales and marketing departments were restructured. EverGreene Tag & Label Group has hired Mike Vejar as vice president of sales and marketing, and John Giesfeldt as marketing manager for its label, decal, and tag segments served by its three printing operations: ALG Labels & Graphics, MidSouth Design, and Dixie Labels.

Prior to joining the company, Vejar most served as director of sales in Americas for the Labels & Sticky Media Division of Iconex. He brings over 28 years of strategic planning, senior sales account management, business development, team integration, and performance management experience in the pressure-sensitive label and retail packaging industry.

Giesfeldt has over 25 years of experience working in both corporate and agency environments developing and managing strategic marketing, public relations, and branding campaigns, as well as content development. His experience includes over 12 years in the label and packaging industry, including the most recent role as marketing manager for Dürr Megtec.
