Lisa Milburn, managing director of Labelexpo Global of Tarsus Group, said: ‘Thanks very much for coming here to visit Labelexpo Europe, and join the first “China Day” event. Asia is now the largest label consumer market in the world, accounting for approximately 44 percent of label volume, while China is the largest label consumer in Asia. It is growing rapidly, particularly in the context of the Chinese government vigorously advocating business transformation and upgrading to new technologies and applications. The label market changes almost everyday.’

Milburn appreciated the transformation in the Chinese label market. She continued: ‘Labelexpo Global Series has very deep friendship with China, and the ninth Labelexpo Asia will come soon to Shanghai at end of this year. The biggest change I feel in recent years is that more and more Chinese enterprises are attending our Labelexpo shows and Summits held in Chicago, India, Thailand and South America, which not only represents their acceptance for our shows, but also reflects the rapid rise of Chinese manufacturers and the rising reputation of “made in China”. We hope you have increasing success via the platform of Labelexpo and Labels & Labeling.’

Lu Chang’an, PEIAC vice president representing China delegations, noted the achievements China label printing industry has achieved in the past 40 years, and the efforts of PEIAC had made in external exchange.

He said: ‘PEIAC is the cooperative partner of Labelexpo Asia, and also one member of L9. The Label Printing branch of PEIAC organizes domestic enterprises to participate in the World Label Industry Awards. From 2011 to 2017, more than 20 domestic enterprises won a World Label Award. And this year, we selected and submitted many excellent label products.

‘Labelexpo Europe is the highlight of label printing industry, and all the new technologies, materials and solutions are displayed here. It is well worth Chinese label converters visiting, studying, communicating and getting creative ideas for future development.’

Jade Grace, portfolio director of Labelexpo Global Series, said: ‘This year is the 40th anniversary of Labelexpo Europe. There are more than 650 exhibitors coming, approximately 200 in which are the first time here. It’s a pleasure and honor that up to 106 Chinese exhibitors are here.’

She introduced the highlights in this exhibition, such as the increasing presentation of digital printing, hybrid printing and automation; intelligence, green and environment protection and sustainable development, which will still be the future development themes. And there’s a Flexible Packaging Area, which may offer significant reference functions for the narrow web converters who are looking forward to step into rapid-growing flexible package printing market. At the same time, Grace also invited Chinese delegations to experience the Sustainability Insight Café and join in the Master Classes sponsored by Label Academy.
