Gallus makes Smartfire available worldwide
Gallus has confirmed worldwide availability the Smartfire entry-level digital label press.
Introduced last year in Europe (Gallus Innovation Days) and the Americas (Labelexpo Americas 2018), Gallus Smartfire is a four-color inkjet label printing machine powered by Memjet. It prints with water-based inks and a native resolution of 1600 dpi. An integrated in-line converting module includes lamination, cutting plotter for individual die-cutting contours, and a semi rotary die-cutting unit.
Michael Ring, head of digital solutions at Gallus, said: ‘Memjet technology allows us to offer an inkjet printing press that produces labels with a quality of 1600 x 1600 dpi while still keeping the investment costs at a low level. With the Gallus Smartfire, we are also focussing on new target groups who are looking for a smart entry into digital label printing.’
Water-based inks make labels produced on a Smartfire environmentally sensitive, while the press needs no exhaust equipment and emits no volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Italian customers can see a Gallus Smartfire live at Heidelberg’s Digital Days event at its subsidiary in Milan on January 31 and February 1.
