Konica Minolta sells 11 presses at Labelexpo

Konica Minolta has sold 11 presses and acquired quality leads during Labelexpo Europe 2019. The number accounts for more than doubled sales compared to the last European show in Brussels, Belgium, two years ago.

Konica Minolta was showing two versions of its new AccurioLabel 230 as a central feature on its stand with one of them being shown with a flexo station for printing white inline for the first time supplied by Danish company Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM), its development and manufacturing partner in Europe.

This year Konica Minolta also shared the exhibition space with its strategic partner MGI Digital Technology, which had displays of embellishment and finishing workflow, with a special focus on the MGI JETvarnish 3D Web Color+, a new roll-to-roll jet and embellishing press (flat and raised UV varnish and hot foil) for printing on labels developed in cooperation with Konica Minolta.

Eleven sales were unveiled at Labelexpo by Konica Minolta, which announced a 450th landmark installation. The first company to purchase the AccurioLabel 230 during the show was Graphic Druck, based in Germany.

‘The AccurioLabel 230 is an extremely important addition to our business to further increase quality as well as save time. It’s important because our vineyard customers, as one example, work very much in ‘just in time’ mode and they often place an order for labels that needs to be delivered on the next day,’ said Daniel Großnick, owner of Graphic Druck.

Konica Minolta also sold presses to MultiPrint in Germany, Rotocel based in Italy, French commercial printer Imprimerie Coste & Fils, Turkish label converter Setag, three machines to British companies including Cotswold Labels and Label Tec as well as Etiquettes Pierre Foucher in France and Maschinenbau Sobkowiak in Germany.

‘Labelexpo was an outstanding success and we had incredible interest from visitors to our stand. We doubled the number of leads we achieved in 2017 and announced 11 more customer sales at the show. It’s been an extremely rewarding journey since we shipped our first machine in 2016. We have grown to become number 2 in the market, according to InfoSource figures, and our accelerated growth shows no sign of slowing. These latest sales are yet again prime examples of how companies are increasingly turning to our world-class technology for label printing,’ said Edoardo Cotichini, team manager industrial printing at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe.

‘There is a seismic change in the industry towards shorter runs and just in time production where label printers and converters need the highest quality printing which is provided on our AccurioLabel 230 digital label press. Our dedicated market approach is working. We are here for the journey. It’s not the start any more and we are on an upward growth path. Several commentators at the show mentioned that we have really hit a sweet spot with our technology and offering to the market. But it’s no longer just about quality, that’s a given. We approach things relation-oriented and co-create with our customers, as already the development of our AccurioPress technology showed where we listened closely to our customers and improved the machine according to their feedback. We are rethinking together with our customers what is possible in label printing,’ concluded Cotichini.
