Labelexpo Americas prove successful for Esko

The recent acquisition of a company, coupled with the announcement of a new partnership with another, have helped ensure Esko attracted a huge crowd of visitors at this year’s Labelexpo Americas.

Acquisition of Tilia Labs and latest innovations was said to draw crowds

The global developer of integrated software and hardware solutions for label professionals used this year’s event to showcase how its latest innovations empower label businesses to improve ways of working, eradicate waste and optimize operational processes. And in the wake of the acquisition of Tilia Labs just weeks before, the opening day announcement of a collaboration to deliver a new connection between GMG’s profiling and color prediction solution, GMG OpenColor, and Esko’s native prepress editing software, ArtPro+, meant the Esko booth was a hive of activity throughout the event.

'We had anticipated a busy Labelexpo, with meetings scheduled with our partners, customers, friends and colleagues throughout the three days,' said Melissa Plemen, Esko senior director of inside sales and marketing. 'But between the announcement of our collaboration with GMG, and our first demonstration of how Tilia Labs’ products featuring intelligent algorithms for sheet layout, estimation and planning have been integrated into the Esko product portfolio, we created even more interest among visitors than anticipated.'

Plemen said hundreds of attendees visited the Esko booth during the event at Chicago’s Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, where the latest developments to the company’s web-based collaboration and automation software, platemaking, and print inspection hardware were all on display.

'Labelexpo provided us with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how digitizing, automating and connecting processes delivers significant efficiencies to businesses,' said Plemen. 'Our fantastic live demo teams, coupled with these exciting announcements, created a real buzz around our booth and everyone wanted to share in the excitement.'

Plemen said the Esko team gave engaging presentations and demos across the three-day event, showcasing how its software and hardware systems combine to deliver the most effective, state-of-the-art workflow automation and prepress technology for narrow web converters.

'We know that label converters face tremendous pressure in today’s turbulent and volatile market, with an ever-growing need for accuracy, consistency and efficiency,' she said. 'It was fantastic for us to be able to meet in person, discuss and really examine how the adoption of integrated hardware and software to automate and connect workflows, systems and processes in label businesses can deliver the clearest tangible benefit in meeting this challenge.'

As well as the Tilia Labs products and the company’s latest software release, the Esko team showcased latest innovations including a new complete print inspection solution for digitally printed labels.

'It was heartening to see so many familiar faces and make new friends at this year’s Labelexpo Americas, and we’re already looking forward to our next event, Printing United, in just a few weeks’ time.'

The new ArtPro+/GMG OpenColor connector will be launched in November 2022.
