Loparex Group will start release liner printing and slitting operations in Thailand. The new terminal will service Thailand and other ASEAN countries. This investment is claimed to strengthen Loparex's position as a leading release liner supplier in Asia-Pacific, which is today the fastest growing market area for release liners.

The new printing and slitting terminal will mainly service hygiene product manufacturers, but also the tape, envelope and other relevant business segments. It will significantly increase Loparex's capacity to supply printed narrow-width Release ESP liners in the Asia-Pacific area.

‘Our global Hygiene industry customers in Thailand have clearly shown their interest in being served by a local Loparex terminal, in local language and in accordance with local customs, and they have warmly welcomed our investment decision,’ confirmed Tapani Laakso, Loparex Asia-Pacific marketing director.

The Terminal will be in the Bangkok area which has an excellent logistical infrastructure and permits quick deliveries to many parts of Asia. ‘Our aim is to service current and new customers faster with local service,’ explained Andie Ho, president of Loparex Asia-Pacific. ‘Our lead-times will be significantly reduced and we will be able to offer more flexible forecasting to our customers, permitting them to minimize their stock levels.’

The start-up of the operation is planned for August 2007. At first, between six and seven people will be employed for shop-floor and customer-service functions.
