Nyquist Systems and BST eltromat celebrate 1,000th TubeScan system

BST eltromat International, manufacturer of quality assurance systems, and partner Nyquist Systems, manufacturer of the TubeScan portfolio for 100 percent inspection and web monitoring for the narrow web market, have celebrated Nyquist Systems producing the 1,000th TubeScan in Landsberg am Lech.

The company celebrated this anniversary on November 23 with employees of BST eltromat and other guests, including Landsberg’s mayor, Matthias Neuner. As well as a tour of the company and various product demonstrations, the program also included a selection of presentations. In one example, the presentation ‘A start-up meets a medium-sized company – a success story’ by Harald Rackel, CEO of elexis AG, explored the shared history of Nyquist and BST eltromat. The celebration was rounded off with a dinner at Igling Castle.

‘We are very proud to have now placed over 1,000 TubeScan systems on the global market,’ said Dr Stephan Krebs, founder of Nyquist Systems, about the sale of the landmark system.

‘The cooperation between Nyquist Systems and BST eltromat has shown itself to be extremely fruitful, as the product range of our two companies for 100 percent inspection and web monitoring complement each other ideally. Together, we cover practically all demands of the global market in these areas of quality assurance,’ said Martin Betting, director business development at BST eltromat.

The 1,000th system to be manufactured is a TubeScan Digital Strobe 4k. The system was launched at this year’s All4Pack exhibition in Paris, and was sold to the Paris-based company Smag Graphique, which has installed more than 60 TubeScan systems on its machines.

The new TubeScan Digital Strobe 4k is equipped with an innovative German-made 9-megapixel camera. It is claimed by the company to be the world’s first 100 percent inspection system on a hybrid basis with a 4k resolution to generate 100 percent image reproduction. The TubeScan Digital Strobe 4k, which has offered the 4k resolution founded on line scan cameras for many years, now satisfies the requirements of high-quality printing and surface inspection in narrow web printing.

From January 2019, the 4k camera will be available as an option for the entire TubeScan portfolio. The camera will allow the portfolio to produce a resolution of 83µm and/or 100µm for label printing with bandwidths of 330mm to 430mm. For special applications, the new technology will allow resolutions of up to 55µm.
