PrintEquip adds Eagle Systems to product portfolio

Established in 1986 by Paul Leppington, PrintEquip – now headed by his son Brett Leppington – is an independent supplier of consumables and machinery to the graphic arts industry throughout Southern Africa.

While the company started life in the fields of security printing, cheque encoding and numbering – and still to this day represents Germany’s Melzer – the business has also moved strongly into the supply of consumables for sheet-fed litho printing from a number of overseas suppliers. Against that backdrop, PrintEquip has added US-based Eagle Systems to its portfolio.

Brett Leppington commented: ‘I first made contact with Mike King, Eagle Systems’ president/CEO, shortly after drupa 2016, where I had witnessed the wonders of cold foiling, as demonstrated on a Roland 700 press. That initial contact was followed earlier this year by a personal meeting in London when I attended an Eagle Systems agent training seminar.’

He added: ‘Eagle Systems’ cold foil technology helps printers to stand out from the crowd. It really is the most cost-effective, flexible and easy-to-use process available on the market today. And using cold foil adds a different texture and sheen to any printed product (sheets or packaging), promoting consumer engagement. It gives a high-end, luxurious feel.

‘It's our job to ensure that printers in Southern Africa stay in the race so that print runs are not lost to global competitors, and to ensure they are in the race on the right horse.’
