Founded in 1928, Rose City Label is a family-owned and operated business that manufacturers high-definition labels across a range of end-use application sectors including food, beverage, personal care and industrial products. The company’s press technology includes both state-of-the-art flexographic and digital press systems in addition to comprehensive in-house platemaking and graphics services.

Rose City Label won TLMI's Calvin Frost Environmental Leadership Award in 2018.

Company president, Scott Pillsbury, said, ‘Being a sustainability-focused company is baked into our culture. We have been sharing our results with our full team each quarter for over five years and people are excited to see that we have cut our water usage by 47 percent since 2013. These results help us attract and retain both customers and team members. This is a big competitive advantage and we are proud of this success. We will continue to move forward and evaluate more options for the future. Lighting upgrades are in the works and we will continue to focus on waste reduction. Being sustainable is also about improving our business operations and reducing costs at every level. We are proud of what we have done so far, but we aren’t finished yet. We still have many improvements to make in the future.’

Rosalyn Bandy, TLMI’s VP of sustainability said: ‘Rose City Label is widely recognized within TLMI for their environmental achievements, including efforts on energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste reduction, and climate change. It’s no surprise that Rose City Label is the very first in the TLMI membership to achieve SGP certification. We are incredibly proud of Scott and his team.’
