Ultrachem: Exports to grow

Ultrachem is looking to grow its international footprint as the main means of increasing business.
Speaking to Package Print Worldwide during the first week of Drupa 2012, Anthony Brinton, Ultrachem’s managing director, and Graham Newbury, export technical manager, said the business already exports to 110 countries worldwide, with a number of new markets to be opened up after initial interest on the company’s stand in Dusseldorf.
‘Growth is coming in export,’ said Newbury. ‘It’s getting stronger and stronger, so we have to be looking to grow that side of our business.’
Brinton said the company, which manufactures its products in the UK for distribution globally, will look to expand its current operations in Bristol, in the south-west, and Leeds, in the north-east, to support future growth. Ultrachem has carried out a number of acquisitions throughout its history, but Brinton said: ‘Our facilities are running near capacity, but these operations involve a lot of kit, so I’d rather see us expand what we’ve already got than add new facilities.’
