US converter installs ink system from Pamarco

Beyer Graphics, located in Commack, New York, has purchased a Sentinel iPro ink management system from Pamarco Global Graphics for its Komori press. Sentinel iPro is designed as an electronically controlled, completely automated cartridge based ink dispensing system, with the capabilities to track and report ink usage.
Bill Hodkinson, plant managerat Beyer, with over 35 years of experience in the printing industry, said: ‘We have seen savings right from the start. We are able to keep less ink in the press, run the ink levels down to bare minimum at the end of a run so we have less waste.’
The iPro direct beam electronic sensor monitors the amount of ink in the fountain and automatically adds ink as needed. This saves money by preventing ink waste and virtually eliminates rework associated with color variation. It also saves time because with the iPro a printer can monitor ink usage and the system has been shown to increase productivity by twenty percent, says the company.
