All Print Design invests in Epson SurePress L-4733AW
Label specialist All Print Design has become the first UK business to invest in Epson’s latest industrial label press, the SurePress L-4733AW, to spearhead growth and expand its customer base in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK.
Established in 2003, the Londonderry manufacturer of long and short-run labels has serviced a wide variety of sectors, including food and craft makers, from small local companies to nationwide branches, with a broad range of labels and foils.
Ruth Clinton, production manager at All Print Design, commented: ‘Our previous Epson Surepress was Epson’s first-generation system, which had been in operation with us for a number of years. It’s a great piece of kit, with consistent high-quality print and great support from Epson.
‘As the market for short-run digital label print continues to grow, Epson Surepress technology has proven to be the perfect solution to continue to build on this fast-evolving label market.
‘After deciding it was time to replace our existing press, we had multiple conversations with Epson. We were keen to upgrade to the newest possible system and were guided through the various options before deciding to invest in the Surepress L-4733, while Epson took the previous unit away for refurbishment and re-use.’
According to Epson, the SurePress L-4733AW is a major upgrade to the 4000 series and offers a combination of quality, consistency, repeatability, and higher speed print modes.
Using Epson’s newly improved AQ4 ink-set (CMYK with green, orange, and white), it is said to deliver wide color gamut and precise color matching on a greater variety of substrates.
The new SurePress device offers simplified and automated maintenance features designed to maximize uptime with minimal operator intervention for a faster, more efficient, reliable workflow and shorter turnaround times.
‘It has a quicker production speed than the press it replaced and reduced maintenance times, so we are able to run even more efficiently,’ added Clinton. ‘We can continue to offer both new and existing customers high quality short runs of digital labels without the need for costly plate investments.
‘We are also able to offer fast turnaround times with minimal set-up, so our customers can continue to receive high quality labels at a great price for one-off promotions, trials, and other short run needs.
‘We expect that the new press will allow us to continue to expand our customer base both within Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as well as the UK as a whole. Along with existing technology we can offer a complete label solution for both large and small, new, and existing customers. It will also enable us to continue to service current customers with an emphasis on quick turnaround times and great quality print.’
According to Clinton, the installation was quick and easy and as the team is already familiar with Surepress technology it has been a seamless switchover.
‘Because we wanted a smooth transition from one press to the next and in view of how happy we have been with Epson over the previous seven years we didn’t look anywhere else,’ added Clinton. ‘We have been working with Epson for a number of years and the service and support we have received has been second to none. We are delighted that this investment continues the relationship for the years to come as well.’
