BSP Labels, located near Royston, Hertfordshire, has recently installed the AccurioLabel 230 digital toner press from Konica Minolta, supplied by Focus Label Machinery. The new press will help the company meet growing demand for short-run and variable data label production.

Konica Minolta states that the AccurioLabel 230 press provides an affordable way for print providers, brand owners, and packaging companies to access high-quality digital printing. Initially targeting small to mid-size label converters, the AccurioLabel is now widely accepted by larger label converters as well. The press is specifically designed to handle a growing number of small to medium print jobs with short processing times, featuring on-demand full-color printing, sampling, variable data and graphics, fixed price printing, and software packages for color management and job composition.

An intuitive touch panel monitor eliminates the need for extensive user training, enabling tasks previously time-consuming on analog machines to be completed quickly and accurately with AccurioLabel presses.

Konica Minolta's Myiro calibration technology controls image quality and color variation, ensuring consistent print quality from the first print to the last through high-resolution multi-gradation data processing. This technology reportedly results in significant time and waste savings.

The "AccurioPro Flux" label imposition software optimizes media use by automating tasks like impositioning and step-and-repeat, as well as supporting variable data printing. The software operates on a simple drag-and-drop principle, facilitating job layout, registration marks, and composite arrangement of label designs.

The press's cost model is based on a straightforward click price per linear meter, which includes all consumables, spare parts, and servicing. This allows users to quote for jobs without seeing the artwork, as there is no need to estimate toner coverage.

BSP owner Martin Attaway said, 'We had been researching digital label presses for some time, but kept coming back to the AccurioLabel 230. For the price and the footprint size, there isn't another press available that gives us the high print quality and variable data facility we need. We were also conscious of choosing a reputable and reliable supplier. The partnership between Konica Minolta and Focus Label Machinery was the perfect solution for us.'

Attaway continued, 'We find the AccurioLabel 230 very simple to operate, with intuitive software and controls. Both Focus and Konica Minolta were very helpful and professional throughout the procurement and installation process, helping us conduct several trials before we committed.'

Focus sales director David Lee added, 'Today's label converters and print companies face growing market demands for faster turnarounds and shorter print runs. With the AccurioLabel 230, orders that were once difficult to handle with analog presses can now be managed much more efficiently. Greater value can be added to the print product using VDP or numbering, helping users differentiate themselves in their market.'

'After carefully considering their options, BSP Labels chose the Konica Minolta press as the best fit for their needs. We are very pleased that they selected Focus and Konica Minolta for this latest investment.'

Lee concluded, 'Being a Konica Minolta expert reseller allows Focus to offer an exciting new product option at an affordable level, ideal for customers looking to adapt to a changing market.'

In addition to being an accredited Konica Minolta industrial print partner, Focus also specializes in supplying and manufacturing narrow web flexographic and integrated digital printing presses, as well as innovative solutions for digital finishing equipment.

The AccurioLabel 230 is available for demonstration at the Focus technical showroom facility, alongside its Reflex 330 re-register label finishing systems.
