Kochi-based Anams Graphic Images has acquired a new digital flexo plate imager from Esko, in a significant deal agreed at the recent Labelexpo India event in Delhi

The trade shop, which supplies processed photopolymer plates for flexo printing, will soon benefit from the CDI Spark 4260 imaging unit at its facility in the southern state of Kerala. Integrated with innovative Esko Imaging Engine and HD Flexo software, the new platemaking system will deliver the best printing results for its large format flexo converter customers.

‘We currently have a smaller imager at our facility, which we bought in 2015,’ commented Joseph James, chief marketing officer with Anams Graphic. ‘When we were looking for a new piece of equipment to handle the demand of our increasing number of wide format customers, we considered the Esko solutions. Based on the study of various options in the industry, we found the Esko solution and aftersales support offered by its team in India to be the best, and we duly chose Esko as our supplier.’

The deal was finalized at the recent Labelexpo India event, where Esko demonstrated how its latest innovations deliver workflow improvements to boost digital print productivity and operational efficiencies.

‘Our CDI Spark family offers a broad range of digital flexo imagers for plates intended for different markets – with everything from a small footprint imager to very large machines to meet every customer’s requirement,’ said John Fredrick, Esko regional sales manager. ‘The CDI Spark is ideal for the tag and label, flexible packaging, small and medium folding carton and corrugated markets. With its maximum plate size of 1m x 1.5m and productivity of up to 4 sqm per hour, we knew the CDI Spark 4260 was the perfect machine to meet the needs of Anams Graphic.

‘Importantly, the fully upgradable imager can be configured to match current and evolving production needs, expanding capabilities as a business grows, and it can also accommodate any brand of the digital plate and processing method.’

From its booth at Labelexpo India, the Esko team demonstrated how its portfolio of hardware and software enables businesses to digitize, automate and connect to accelerate the go-to-market process of packaged goods.
