Paramount dedicates finishing room to BGM

Paramount has recently invested heavily in new digital printing equipment to complement its flexo department. As a result, the converter also needed to expand its capacity through additional finishing equipment.

After several BGM representatives’ visits, the company determined the precise specifications and requirements to ensure the optimal machine performance needed, and Paramount Labels ordered a BGM Elite Digiflex digital converting line.

The new machine features full servo control that ensures precise accuracy of the latest re-register flexo print station and semi-rotary die-cutting station. Both incorporate a laser function that enables the operator to pre-position the print cylinder or die shim in register to the pre-printed media. This allows pre-registration to the print while minimizing waste and downtime. The DieNamic die-cutting unit achieves speeds of up to 110m/min.

Additional options chosen by Paramount Labels included a re-register in-setter to meet the growing demand for peel and reveal work, a cold foil unit to add embellishments, a lamination unit, and a variable repeat sheeting module.

While the Digiflex was being built, Paramount Labels contacted BGM again. Orders for pharmaceutical labels had increased dramatically, and the company needed a slitter rewinder with a 100 percent inspection system. The company selected a BGM Elite label inspection slitter rewinder with a festoon and splice table and an enlarged error positioning splice table.

Paramount Labels were experiencing such rapid growth that while both these units were still being constructed, the company contacted BGM again to order an Elite 410iSR label inspection slitter rewinder boasting standard high specification features such as automatic unwind braking with adjustable roll end settings, reversible rewind, and machine diagnostics.

‘The Digiflex is the perfect print finishing unit for our customers who require bespoke labels that go beyond the ordinary, we’ve been very impressed with the quality and reliability of the three units that we purchased from BGM; also the service we received both before and after the installation was excellent,’ commented Phil Wright, managing director of Paramount Labels. ‘We are delighted to dedicate our new finishing room to BGM – they have helped transform our finishing operation.’

Daniel Carr, sales manager at BGM, added: ‘It was a pleasure doing business with Paramount Labels, we were delighted to help out, and we hope this successful partnership lasts for many years.’
