SPG has sold two variLex 8130M CtP imagers with in-line UV into Africa and Middle East through its representative, Vinsak.

Manipal International Printing Press from Kenya and Reprotronics Dubai confirmed the purchase on the second day at Labelexpo Europe.

Pritam Choudhary, managing director, Manipal Africa, said: ‘We are in the process of expansion and was looking for suitable pre-press for our operations. While we have plate making infrastructure in-house, we needed another imager to cater to growing demand.’

The pre-press house Reprotronics Dubai has expanded its capacity and capabilities to dry offset plate for printing on metal cans used in FMCG industry. Sebastian Lonth, GM of Reprotronics, said: ‘We evaluated multiple products but found this suitable for dry offset market. With strong local support from the Vinsak team, the decision was easier to make. We hope to expand our offerings in the region with this new addition.’

Michael Tschol, sales manager graphics, SPGPrints, added: ‘We are proud to have Manipal Technologies and Reprotronics as our customers. We are confident of our growth with Vinsak as our partner in these regions.’

Both systems are expected to be installed in the first quarter of 2020.

Neeraj Ghelani, sales Dubai and Africa, Vinsak, said: ‘SPG products complete our portfolio of flexo value chain including pre-press, press and post press. We are sure that the excellent product by SPG combined with our sales and service efforts will result in more orders and installations.’

SPG Prints’ variLex is a CtP imaging system with in-line UV exposure and comes integrated with a software. It has a resolution of 5,080 DPI.
