The Institute of Packaging Professionals is bringing the ‘Fundamentals of Packaging Technology’ seminar west for the first time since 2003.  In spring of 2007 the seminar will take place in Newport Beach, California, conveniently located for west coast area packaging professionals.

‘By adding a new location for “Fundamentals of Packaging Technology”, professionals in the west will now have an excellent opportunity to increase their packaging knowledge,’ says Jane Chase, IoPP executive vice president - education. ‘IoPP’s mission is to serve the educational needs of the packaging community. The spring 2007 course will help fill the packaging education void that has been present in the west.’

‘Fundamentals of Packaging Technology’ will be available throughout the U.S. four times per year starting in 2007, including winter (January and February) in Orlando, spring (March and April) in Newport Beach, summer (June and July) in Minneapolis, and fall (September and October) in Chicago. This is the fullest array of ‘Fundamentals’ courses ever available to professionals in IoPP’s history.

The ‘Fundamentals’ seminars are the cornerstone of IoPP’s educational programs, focusing on education tailored to the needs of working professionals. The course covers key packaging forms – paper, plastics, cans, and bottles. It also covers decorating, labeling, protective packaging, closures and machinery. ‘The “Fundamentals of Packaging Technology” truly encapsulates the big picture of packaging,’ Chase added.
