IoPP introduces Environmental Electronics Packaging Certificate
’Environmental Electronics Packaging’ is a new self-study certificate program now offered by the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP). It is designed for anybody involved in electronics or other packaging disciplines wanting to increase their knowledge and value to their employer or customer base by helping to reduce packaging’s potentially negative impact on the environment.
Certificate program helps participants gain improved positioning by learning how to reduce material costs, shipping costs and environmental risks. The knowledge acquired will also help participants make better choices to improve the environmental performance of packaging designs and processes while meeting all other business requirements.
To receive certificate, participants must take an exam that is based on the book ‘Environmental Packaging Guideline for the Electronics Industry’, which is available online at www.iopp.org/store.
Guideline contains 178 pages of pertinent information as well as necessary material that will help packaging professionals become more environmentally conscious.
Exam is offered six times in 2006: July 17; August 14; September 18; October 9, November 13; and December 11. Exam is mailed to participants and they have approximately one week to complete and send exam back to IoPP National for grading.
Upon successful completion, applicants will receive an IoPP printed certificate, suitable for framing. It will bear the words:
CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT ENVIRONMENTAL ELECTRONICS PACKAGING
