iTi to show Xaar printheads at IPEX

imaging Technology international (iTi), a global designer and manufacturer of industrial inkjet systems, has announced that it will be showing a new version of their Digital Web Press (DWP) at IPEX, incorporating Xaar's latest greyscale printheads - the OmniDot 760 GS8. This will be the first public demonstration of fixed head, single pass printing using this printhead technology.

The DWP is a robust narrow web inkjet production system for high speed printing of digital data on flexible substrates such as label stock or film. The DWP delivers affordable, high volume digital production capabilities, enabling variable length runs of any given image, just-in-time production, and the ability to support changing images on the fly.

At IPEX, iTi will be showing their DWP at the Xaar booth (Hall 9 Stand 09-E50) printing full color high quality images, 54mm wide onto label stock with OmniDot 760 GS8 greyscale printheads.

To make ink selection highly flexible, the DWP incorporates optional ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR) or hot air ink curing systems. At IPEX, the DWP will be running with a UV curing system and SunJet Crystal UOX inks.

The DWP features a sturdy, anodized aluminum and stainless steel construction. The substrate-handling system minimizes web weave and speed variations to maximize image quality. It is designed for rigorous 24/7 production schedules with minimal operator intervention and features a customizable color touch-screen application interface.

Peter Addington, Xaar business development manager and Debbie Thorp, iTi vice president EMEA Operations will present a label printing case study at the Flexible Packaging Centre of Excellence (Hall 1 Stand 01-E70) on 4th April at 12.30-13.00 and 10th April at 14.30-15.00.
