Klockner Pentaplast expands vinyl and shrink film capabilities in US

Klockner Pentaplast of America has announced a further expansion of rigid vinyl calendering capacity at its Rural Retreat, Virginia, manufacturing facility. The additional vinyl capacity is targeted to come on-line by July 2005 to service packaging and specialty product applications.

'We are investing at this time to further support our customers' growth requirements with the continued level of service and quality to which they are accustomed from Klockner Pentaplast,' noted Michael Tubridy, president of Klockner Pentaplast of America. 'This investment demonstrates our continued commitment to provide capacity to meet future market demand in key market segments.'

The company has also announced a further expansion of their North American production capacity for shrink-sleeve label films in order to meet marketplace demand. The new film tentering line will also be located at the companys Rural Retreat manufacturing facility. Start-up is targeted for late summer 2005.

The increasing use of these specialty films by our customers requires that we keep pace with their demand,' adds Tubridy. 'This additional capacity will allow us to meet the evolving market requirements for shrink sleeves and further enhance related new-product development initiatives that we have planned in vinyl, PETG, and polystyrene films.'
