Kokama International expands into flexo with Focus

Kokama International (Pvt) Ltd, Indian label and ticket supplier to the apparel industry, with headquarters in Mumbai, has recently installed a Proflex 250 flexo press from UK narrow web press manufacturer Focus Label Machinery Ltd.

The new press is an in-line modular configuration with six colors, UV varnishing, turn bar, slitting, die cutting & rewind. The print heads all have quick change print cassette technology, enabling very fast job changes, plus off-press wash ups, leaving the press free to continue production. Interstation drying is via 2Kw Infra Red lamps, plus forced cool air & waste air extraction, providing extremely efficient, high speed drying, whilst UV varnishing is performed on the last print head, utilizing the dual UV/infra red drying facility.

The Proflex at Kokama is being used predominantly for the production of swing tickets and self adhesive labels, but also for heat transfer labels, the fastest growing form of wash care labeling.

Established in 1990, Kokama International has grown to become one of the leading suppliers of garment labels, swing tickets, self adhesive labels and thermal printed labels in India. Kokama is an approved supplier to many well known clothing brand owners, & superstore chains, and has strategic alliances with a number of US & European operations. The company has recently moved into a brand new, purpose built, air conditioned factory & office building in Navi Mumbai, with in-house design & repro department.
