KSW Microtec AG, a manufacturer of smart intelligent labels and inlays, is offering its new EPC Class 1 generation 1 / generation 2 inlay ‘Taurus’.

This inlay, developed by KSW Microtec, operates in the frequency 915 MHz and qualifies for logistic applications. An 868 MHz version, suited for the European market, is already under development and will be released soon.

Through its close and wide range decoupled aluminum antenna, the KSW Microtec inlay ‘Taurus’ offers its users close range label printing as well as UHF-typical wide range applications. The centric antenna is responsible for the precise, close range identification and the outer antenna enables additionally required UHF tag ranges. The design of ‘Taurus’ is patented by KSW Microtec AG. It is individually applicable with a user specific programmable memory volume of 96-bit.

KSW Microtec is providing samples of this inlay and high-volume production will start in its plant in Dresden, Germany within weeks. With the current capital investment level, the Dresden location is offering a production capacity of up to 450 million RFID inlays annually.
