Labelexpo Asia 2005, one of the three major biennial global Labelexpos, has been recognized as one of the top 100 exhibitions in China, with judging taking place at the third China Convention & Exhibition Fortune Forum Committee. The trade event that focuses on meeting the needs of the fast-moving label industry is organized by the Tarsus Group, the international media group with interests in exhibitions, conferences, publishing and online media.

The China Convention & Exhibition Fortune Forum (CCEFF) awarded the prize to Labelexpo Asia and the Tarsus Group at a ceremony in Nanjing last week. Many international and Chinese exhibition companies attended the awards and made presentations, including: Messe Dusseldorf China Ltd, SINEC, Word Expo (Group) and The Shanghai Modern International Exhibition Co. Ltd. CCEFF represents the Chinese exhibition and conference industry and promotes their interests across the country. The award was voted for by representatives from the Chinese exhibition industry and was supported by the Chinese Export Commodities Fair, East Alliance Expo and China Hi-Tech Fair, to name a few.

The exhibition and conference industry in China has experienced rapid growth and will continue to expand significantly over the next few years. The Tarsus Group already has a growing presence in China with its various label shows and summits and its travel trade event, the Beijing International Travel and Tourism Market. In 2005, the Group established a new office in Shanghai reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing its Chinese business and supporting its expansion in the region.

In 2005, Labelexpo Asia attracted 9,100 visitors from over 70 different countries, making it double the size of the 2003 event.  The show attracted 150 of the leading international and Chinese label industry suppliers. Approximately 85 per cent of visitors to the show came from China as well as large delegations from India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.  The next Labelexpo Asia will take place on 28-30th November 2007 in Shanghai. A label summit will also take place this year in Guangzhou. The event specializes in the latest developments in smart and intelligent label technology.

Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director, said, ‘We are absolutely delighted with this award and I would like to thank all those who voted for us.  China is an important market for the label industry as well as for the international exhibitions sector. We’re committed to expanding our business in China and across Asia and we’re very excited about the future.’
