The PABS 2011 conference, organized by AWA Conferences & Events, takes place in Chicago, USA, 14-15 September 2011, and aims to meet the needs of major brand owners and other manufacturers of consumer and industrial goods, as well as security technology providers, for an update on the status quo in this ever-changing and increasingly important arena.

Drawing speakers from around the world and a variety of disciplines, the conference brings together experts on intellectual property, counterfeiting and product diversion from the legal world; brand owners; and leading suppliers and security consultants.

The wide-ranging agenda includes, in the general session, speakers from Cambridge Consultants; Greer, Burns & Crain; JDSU; MarkMonitor; and Oakley.  Discussing strategy and implementation will be speakers from Bilcare Technologies, CMR Associates; Johnson & Johnson (on behalf of the International Authentication Association); and PICA. Technology providers AlpVision, Prooftag and Topflight will demonstrate recent developments; and the session on enforcement and litigation will include contributions from Caterpillar, Sproxil and the US Customs and Border Protection authority.

In addition to the conference, PABS 2011 represents an opportunity for the brand security value chain to network during the breaks and cocktail reception on the evening of the first day, and to study the brand protection technology presented by the exhibitors at the table-top exhibition.  The conference is sponsored by AlpVision and specialist media around the world.

Brand owners interested in learning more about the challenges of protecting their products from counterfeiting are invited to attend the conference without charge and should contact AWA Conferences & Events directly to take advantage of this offer.

Full details of the conference program are available on the AWA website, where it is also possible to register online.
