AWA to stage anti-counterfeiting conference

- Conference to cover strategies, implementation, enforcement and litigation, technologies and solutions for brand security

 

Alexander Watson Associates (AWA) is to present the latest trends and solutions for product authentication and brand security at its Product Authentication & Brand Security (PABS) conference 2012.

 

Taking place in Chicago on September 10-11, the conference program will provide an update for brand owners and manufacturers of consumer and industrial goods on product authentication and brand security.

 

The PABS conference 2012 will span a broad spectrum of key topics covering strategies, implementation, enforcement and litigation, technologies and solutions. 

 

Drawing speakers from around the world, it brings together experts on intellectual property, counterfeiting, and product diversion from the legal world and governmental departments, brand owners and leading-edge solutions providers and security consultants.  

 

AWA said the fight against counterfeiting is conducted on a number of fronts – many of them involving placement of security devices, overt and covert, in and on product packaging.  

 

Speakers at the 2012 conference will address fraud activity in foods and wines, the imaging supplies industry and premium sports shoes.  

 

Practical solutions covered will include luminescent security inks, Kodak security solutions, Prooftag security tags and WS Packaging RFID solutions.  

 

Conference papers will be complemented by an open panel discussion, a tabletop exhibition and networking opportunities.   

 

The AWA PABS conference 2012 takes place at the same time as Labelexpo Americas, which is being held in Chicago on September 11-13.

 

A preview of those exhibiting relevant package printing technologies at Labelexpo Americas 2012, as well as information on specific package printing workshops and conference streams taking place as part of the event, will feature in the next issue of Package Print Worldwide, published mid-August.
