Bio4Life acquires BioTak

Bio4Life has acquired the majority shareholding of Sustainable Adhesive Products (SAP), developer of the world’s first compostable pressure sensitive adhesive, strengthening its position within biodegradable and renewable materials. The acquisition includes the brand BioTak, the only certified compostable adhesive as defined by the European compostable packaging standard EN13432.

Arjan Klapwijk, owner of Bio4Life BV, said, ‘Although we are very successful in developing new applications in biodegradable packaging, the BioTAK adhesive secures our position in some new and exciting markets.’

Paul Roscoe, founder of SAP, added, ‘We are very excited about the future of BioTak and the new level of development and commitment that has come from Bio4Life. The overall knowledge and understanding that Bio4Life already has with compostable materials will ensure that BioTak will remain a world leader in the compostable market place.’

Sales and logistics will be carried out from the new purpose-built Dutch headquarters in Bleiswijk.
