To support the expansion of its UK-based manufacturing site, ink supplier ColorGen is now certified to ISO9001:2008 quality standard, ISO14001:2004 environmental standard and OHSAS18001:2007 health and safety standard.

Mark Bowman, MD, said: 'Working to these standards will help maintain Colorgen's position as a leading supplier to top tier packaging organizations. This commitment also shows how important it is for ColorGen to minimize its environmental impact and the risk of injury to its employees and others.’

The company believes this simultaneous accreditation is a first for the ink industry and added, ‘These accreditations are not to tick boxes on a client’s enquiry form, but will be a foundation that will bring together the operating procedures and legislative requirements of the business. This will be used as a powerful tool to maintain and develop procedures along with keeping documentation in order for training, monitoring, inspection and audit purposes.’

The move provides internationally recognized benchmarks – demonstrating that ColorGen has formal, robust and auditable business management systems that are subject to review and continuous improvement.
