Flexomaid enters the market at Labelexpo Americas 2014

Flexomaid is using Labelexpo Americas 2014 to unveil its Aeromaid system for cleaning invisible residues on anilox rolls using air stream technology.

New system for anilox roll cleaning uses air stream technology

Flexomaid was founded in the summer of 2013 by Daniel Poissant. Its product range includes the Aeromaid cleaning system for off-press cleaning, Ecomaid detergent for on-press cleaning and Flexomaid ink revealer for quality control tests. It has a patent pending on its Aeromaid air steam powerhead.

The Aeromaid powerhead was developed to minimize water consumption during the cleaning process. Using an advanced laser sensor, the Aeromaid powerhead detects the roll’s characteristics —diameter, length, surface — to provide green, predictable and consistent cleaning results, regardless of the roll format, the ink type or the operator.

Flexomaid said many washing systems can leave ink and coating residues hidden deep in the cells of anilox rolls where they can’t be seen, with invisible residues costly for companies through production downtime, repeated cleaning cycles, poor ink transfer, inconsistent print quality and shortened roll lifespan.

Poissant, who is president of Flexomaid, said: ‘When we realized the amount of money spent on detergent and water decontamination with most standard washing systems, we knew we were on to something.

‘Printers would be surprised to see how invisible residues left on anilox rolls by regular washing systems impact their printing quality. We created Flexomaid to clean the invisible keeping the environment in mind.’
