Flint takes full control of operations in South Africa

Flint Group has completed the latest expansion of its African business with the acquisition of the remaining shares in Continental Printing Inks and Eagle Ink Systems.

As of October 24, Flint Group has become sole owner of the JV in South Africa

In September of 2015, Flint Group Africa was formed through a joint venture partnership combining the two ink and coating suppliers to the packaging and print media markets in South Africa.  As of October 24, 2017, Flint Group has become sole owner of the entity.

Doug Aldred, president of Flint Group Packaging, said: ‘The management of Flint Group is extremely pleased with the growth we have seen in South Africa since our partnership with Continental and Eagle Ink Systems started in late 2015.  I credit this success to the employees of Continental, Eagle and Flint Group.’

Flint Group Africa is the largest ink supplier in South Africa with local manufacturing sites in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

‘Throughout the transition, our combined team of experts were dedicated to providing unmatched support to customers in the region,’ continued Aldred. ‘Continued best in class service and highest quality products have remained our top priority. As a result of this collaboration, we have already realized new business opportunities and have expanded our position in South Africa.’
