FTA to showcase globalization at Forum 2016

Flexographic Technical Association’s (FTA’s) 2016 Forum is to directly address the topic of globalization on the third day of the association’s next installment of its annual conference.

FTA’s 2016 Forum will take place March 6-9 at Omni Fort Worth Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas

The all-new ‘Flexo International – 60 Minutes Around the World’ session will take place on March 8, chaired by Alex James from Kodak and CSW’s Marek Skrzynski. FTA said the session will take conference goers on a journey across the continents to shed light, and in some cases, dispel common misconceptions associated with the global package printing and converting industry. Topics to be discussed include: international economies, emerging technologies, current challenges, investments being made region to region, and the wide variety of educational programs available throughout the world.

Panelists for the session include: Juan Bermudez, vice president of sales at Harper Corporation of America; Lilián Robayo Páez, editor of El Empaque+Conversion; David Recchia, printing process specialist at MacDermid Printing Solutions; and Birgit Plautz, manager of technical services at GMG Americas.

The panel will field a variety of questions across a plethora of themes, covering: new demands from package buyers on printers/converters; the impact of digital printing on the flexo market; challenges to printers in China, Europe, Australia and Latin America; and what the future holds.

‘In order to remain competitive in today’s global economy, a keen understanding of how flexo operates outside of North America is essential,’ said James. ‘This session will make its debut at a Forum, and since it will feature experts who have direct experience in China, Europe, Australia and Latin America, we are sure that attendees will leave armed with valuable information that will help them remain competitive, both locally and globally.’
