Gulf Print & Pack 2013 - highlights from day one

- Gulf Print & Pack 2013 is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center until April 11

- Show to return in 2015, from April 13-16

Gulf Print & Pack 2013 has kicked off in Dubai, with H.E. Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, the chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inaugurating the event.

H.E. Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair also took a tour of the show floor, accompanied by Gulf Print & Pack chairman Roger Pellow, and visited key exhibitors and suppliers to the package printing market, including XOL Automation, Flint Group and EFI (pictured, top). He visited others also, including Signtrade and event gold sponsor Canon. 

Other highlights on day one included keynote presentationsa from Kodak and Canon.

Kodak spoke about its Spotless technology and how it can help the flexo market achieve more using four colors, particularly in the printing of packaging where more and more is being demand of these printed products in terms of design, color and print, as well as the advances being made by other OEMs from across the supply chain, such as pre-press vendors.

During its afternoon presentation, Canon Middle East delivered more details from its recent study into the MENA market, and how print in the region is faring up.
