HP has launched a directory of HP Indigo Print Service Providers (PSPs), enabling end-users including enterprises, agencies and solutions companies to access a network of commercial and industrial HP Indigo press customers. The tool enables the user to identify companies with the facilities and capabilities to undertake specified print work, ranging from direct mail, photographic applications, brochures and point of sale to labels, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging.

‘The new directory has been created in response to a demand for a consolidated database, where end-users can identify the HP Indigo PSP best suited to producing a particular application or job,’ said Nancy Janes, manager, business development, HP, Indigo Digital Press, Europe, Middle East and Africa. ‘We often receive enquiries from end-users looking for HP Indigo printers in different countries and in the past have had to undertake a time-consuming manual search process. The new Directory of HP Indigo PSPs will enable end-users to identify a PSP that will meet their needs at the touch of a button and being web-based can be accessed 24/7 from anywhere in the world.’

HP has worked very closely with agencies and enterprises to finalize the look, feel and functionality of the site, which goes live in Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) from 31st July. Each visitor can search for a PSP under specified criteria, for example by country, application, capabilities or specialist solutions.

‘HP has helped us identify print service providers in countries throughout EMEA in the past, and there is no doubt that this new online tool will be of benefit to us and other agencies alike,’ said Sue Holt, senior print manager, McCann Erickson Communications House. ‘To have access to a range of printers across Europe at the touch of a button will enable us to quickly and efficiently find partners who can meet our needs and deliver high quality, variable data and on-demand print for our clients.’

Primarily targeted at end-users, HP Indigo customers can also use the facility to search for other PSPs in European countries, forging relationships with local print suppliers to serve local markets or outsourcing jobs they are unable to undertake. Additionally within some EMEA countries, including Italy, Spain, Holland, France and Germany HP's appointed print management company HH Print Management will use the online facility to place jobs on behalf of HP.

‘Using the PSP Directory, HH is able to offer HP users and other enterprise customers further options for supply within the multi-regional HP Indigo network,’ said Robert Macmillan, managing director, HH Print Management. ‘The directory complements our wider online print management tools and enables us to harness the benefits of available HP Indigo facilities while meeting the precise production requirements and deadlines of the end-user.’

The Directory of Print Service Providers is another tool under HP's Capture business success program, which delivers a unique and complimentary way for PSPs to promote their business. Initially HP invited 30 percent of its PSP install base - based on the highest volume users - to join the network and take up has been very successful. ‘As the program develops we will look to roll it out to more customers,’ continues Nancy. ‘Although, the program is only currently available in EMEA, we anticipate rolling it further following the initial launch.’
